Firstly: I don't work on the site. I notice tiny things. Wilted (Ashley here) sometimes changes those tiny things. This post is the result of several such changes to several such tiny things.
I have...two or three tiny updates (and a couple of backend ones that are pretty major).
Tiny ones first because you can actually see 'em:
- Navbar! Different style. Not much to say.
- An update that was going to be here but apparently isn't here yet. RIP.
- There was an admin button on the navbar but it isn't here anymore :(
Backend stuff:
- Server is allowed to write images to places.
- SSL cert! shiny! (disclaimer: I did not cause this)
- Emails now actually send instead of breaking everything.
Have fun with...uh...the tiny UI tweak. I guess. I'll poke Wilted about the other stuff tomorrow. For now I'm going to shoot ships and drive into asteroids.

SSL cert seeming to be rejected by Android and some other browsers, causing some scary on-visit full page error messages ;D
Will solve ASAP

To expand on a few points for any interested members:
- An update that was going to be here but apparently isn't here yet. RIP.
No idea what this is yet ;D excited to find out what I said I was gonna do and forgot though.
- There was an admin button on the navbar but it isn't here anymore :(
Going to readd once I make a major update to implement full permissions systems on the rank system (That is, those tags under our names on the forum will have flags attached saying what you can/cannot do. Old site had this but new one not yet)
Backend stuff:
- Server is allowed to write images to places.
Naturally it could do this before. Now it's on a much more secure server with permissions set up properly and thoroughly, rather than the site being able to read and write whatever files it likes.
- SSL cert! shiny! (disclaimer: I did not cause this)
The green padlock by your URL. Means the site traffic is encrypted and safe rather than open (meaning people can't steal your password for example in public locations). Also means we can accept card transactions in the near future.
- Emails now actually send instead of breaking everything.
Heh. Turns out it hasn't been working for months and I never noticed it. I've got a proper SMTP server set up now so that our emails come from via @gamer-island.com with verification of URL identity. A lot more professional than having it via @hostname
